Finding “equity”, especially for Fairfield, has been a question of some concern. Please consider this: How do you find equity if the unification is defeated and each school is left where it is? Doing nothing doesn’t move us toward resolution.
There has also been speculation about what might happen. Remember that with the proposed unification comes an elected school board, with open meetings, and the opportunity for the public to engage. Without unification, nothing happens because nothing can happen. We’re frozen in place, with the same multiple boards and the same inefficiencies.
The State Board of Education unanimously and enthusiastically approved that our plan be brought to the voters on Town Meeting Day. This is our choice. Please vote on March 1st.
